Follow your nose and learn how to create your signature fragrance in this exciting Artisan Perfume Workshop in London's famous Hatton Garden. Discover the mysterious world of perfumery and design and blend a perfume, with prosecco and cupcakes! Led by Tori Jackson, artisan perfumer and founder of The Secret Scent Societe, you will be guide along as you select and blend your own signature scent. Discover the mysterious world of perfumery and design and blend a perfume, with prosecco and cupcakes! You will learn about the history of perfume and how to create harmonious accords using a selection of aromatic oils including essential oils and absolutes. Lastly, you will also learn about fragrance creation, the various fragrance families and the ideal fragrance construction (using top, middle and base notes).
Based in 4160Tuesdays own perfume studio, you'll smell a carefully curated range of perfumery materials, both naturals and synthetics, and to blend them to create a wearable fragrance with as much help and guidance as you need from Sarah. The day will look something like this: The morning - we arrive between 10.30 and 11 for a drink and introductory chat. Some people travel a long way to get here, so we allow time for arriving and settling in. You will smell a carefully curated range of perfumery materials, both naturals and synthetics, and to blend them to create a wearable fragrance. We generally head off to Paulos cafe for all day breakfast at around 1.20, or CJs for Thai noodles; you can bring your lunch or get something at Tesco on the corner if you like. The afternoon 2 ish – 4.30 ish (sometimes later...) - blend a scent of your own, using professional perfumery materials. The session includes all materials and equipment, plus tea, coffee, fruit, cake, unusual cordials and a 50ml bottle of your own individual perfume. (We open a bottle or two of champagne at the end.)
This class builds on techniques explored in our Wrap Ring Workshop, including annealing, hammering, stamping, filing and finishing, as well as introducing students to piercing and assembling methods. During the day you will explore ways to mark the surface of your metal. You will pierce out shapes of your choice, before using hammering and stamping techniques to add surface texture. Your design will be completely unique and 100% hand made. The workshop is fully equipped with everything that's needed throughout the day, with each student having their own Jewellers Bench Peg, Steel block and Piercing saw.
