Karma Yoga in Action Let us introduce you to The Mindful Movement Project; a monthly charity yoga class to raise awareness of mental health and raise funds for its treatment and research. We will feature guest teachers who will guide you through a nourishing 75 minute Flow & Restore yoga class to help you unwind and reset for the week ahead. All proceeds will go to local charities working with those suffering from mental health conditions. This is karma yoga in action.
Stay energised and healthy this silly season. This 2-hour workshop, suitable for all levels uses asana (physical practice), pranayama (breath work), meditation and yoga nidra (yogic sleep) to activate the immune system to ward off colds and lethargy. The workshop will start with a warming and energising vinyasa flow practice (75mins) followed by some pranayama to help balance and restore the energy channels. Next we will practice mindfulness and meditation to help ground our monkey minds in this busy time of year. This will be accompanied by a brief explanation of some of some basic yogic philosophies which can help to keep us centred, happy and calm through this busy and stressful time in the lead up to Christmas. And finally, you will get to lie back, rug up and enjoy a deeply nurturing 20-minute yoga nidra or yoga sleep, to restore and recharge those inner batteries.
Taking our cue from seasonal changes, this yin yoga workshop encourages us to slow down, turn inwards, and become more introspective. A nourishing sequence of longer, passive poses will nurture and unravel the whole body, releasing any tension, stress and rigidity accrued in daily life. As you surrender deeper into each pose, the focus comes to settle on stillness of breath, body and mind: yielding into sensation whilst cultivating the time and space to really rest and replenish.
