Every season hath its pleasures; Spring may boast her flowery prime, Yet the vineyard's ruby treasures Brighten Autumn's soberer time. Thomas Moore Our November tasting is all about those autumnal wines that you'd love to drink while cuddling by the fire, after a walk in the woods, or following a rugby match. The wines that truly warm your soul. Stories include how a family made top bubbles from a jumbled-up Burgundy plot, a former rugby player who won a coveted oenology (wine science!) award, and physicist-turned- winemaker who works tirelessly to keep his precious grapes out of reach of wild boars. Perhaps it will be a fruity chardonnay that takes you halfway to heaven, a silky pinot noir from an environmentalist and political junkie, or a white wine for people who only drink red wine. Whatever it is, prepare to be pleasantly surprised.
