Run by one of Commedia dell Arte leading practitioners in the UK, this masterclass will offer you the opportunity to discover and expand skills that are fundamental in any performance setting: body and space awareness, physical stamina, a clear understanding of rhythm-tempo, comic timing and the ability to improvise with confidence.

This is a very energetic and fun workshop. It is a theatre class that integrates element of dance. The masks of Commedia dell\'Arte are an excellent way to train your body and expand your physical skills both strenghts and flexibility.
It is an excellent opportunity for drama students, teachers, professional actors and theatre makers (both experienced and absolute beginners) to develop skills that are fundamental in any performance setting – not only physical comedy. The Masks of Commedia dell’Arte are an excellent tool to expand performers’ physical vocabulary, stamina, space awareness and understanding of tempo-rhythm and comic timing. This experience is wheelchair friendly!

- Panta Rei Theatre is a London-based theatre company that offers workshops, classes and masterclasses on Physical Theatre, Devising and Commedia dell'Arte in Islington, North London. The studios are beautiful dance studios with wooden floors, mirrors and equipped with professional lighting and sound system. Panta Rei Theatre is run by award-winning actress and director Chiara D'Anna. As a Lecturer in Performing Arts Dr D'Anna (PhD, MA, MSc) teaches at RADA, Rose Bruford College, East 15, Goldsmiths University, The National Centre of Circus Arts and the Cass, School of Arts, Architecture and Design. "My expertise is Physical Theatre, Devising, Actor's Training (Movement) and Commedia dell'Arte. I love to work with people from any background, actors and non-actors, to explore body expression and movement in a playful and supporting environment. My work is fun, energetic and very eclectic. I integrate a variety of practices and approaches from theatre and dance, buut also Yoga meditation and visual arts. I've been working in the entertainment industry for twenty years. I'm best known for my collaboration with writer and director Peter Strickland in the award-winning films "Berberian Sound Studio" and 'The Duke of Burgundy".
