Description

London Art Classes are held in famous artist Nick Malone's working studio - a truly creative space in which to realise your artistic potential!

Beginners to drawing and painting are particularly welcome - the classes are small with lots of personal attention and a great atmosphere. We offer a very relaxed, student led class where everyone is free to work at their own pace.

There are three elements to each class:

One: Practical studio work
The most important element in your time at the studio is personal practice.

Two: Instruction in the basic techniques of drawing and painting
There is instruction in one of the issues of drawing and painting each week. Topics covered include: Techniques, Line, Space, Light and Dark, Colour Mixing, Shape and Form, Composition, Subject and Meaning, and Marks, Movement and Texture.

Three: A slide show or short film on contemporary art.
This part of the class links into the technique that we cover in the second element. We look at different artists’ approaches to help provide context and inspiration. This also helps you to place yourself within the world of contemporary art and develop your own style of working.

Nick is passionate about promoting good art practice, which he sees as a vital part of his role as a professional artist. He established London Art Classes in 2005 and has 15 years of extensive experience in developing creativity in beginners and more experienced artists.
