Description

Learn the art and craft of building natural walls without mortar. A one day, hands-on practical sorting material, laying foundations, assessing use of different shapes and sizes, placing through stones, building corners and placing top stones!

It is also a practical introduction to the heritage and the craft. In addition, you also receive an extensive discussion overview, packed with 'How to' tips and information regarding the construction of other dry stone walling features.

At the end of the workshops you will be able to safely and confidently, set out and construct a dry stone wall or other basic feature, understand DSW heritage and terminology used, distinguish various stone shapes, material and it's uses.

All our trainers are certificated by the Dry Stone Walling Association. These practical, outdoor workshops are an inspiration for: DIY enthusiasts, landscape gardeners/designers, persons looking for an interesting outdoor activity. They are suitable for all persons over the age of 16yrs.

The Host


John is a professional dry stone waller registered with the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain. He undertakes commissions for private clients in the city and rural areas. Twice a month, he run workshops in London and Bedfordshire to introduce people to the craft who have an interest in developing an understanding how stone walls can be built!
