Please note: If you cannot source upholstery fabric, we have limited supply to choose from and is £20 per meter.
We provide pine plain bun feet (included in ticket price) upgrade to tulip feet for £16 or hairpin legs for £30.
Join us for a 2-day workshop at the Petit Miracle Interiors shop in the West12 shopping centre, London, Shepherds Bush and learn from our experienced team how to upholster a footstool using modern methods. This is a 2-day course where you will learn a new skill and help a small charity.
Each ticket includes 2 sessions; 3rd Saturday of each month AND 4th Saturday of each month.
We work in a small group (around 5 people per workshop) so the session will be tailored to your skill level and experience.
By the end of the sessions, the student should be able to……
Understand different tools used for upholstery.
Know how to handle tools correctly to avoid damage to wood and themselves.
Know why each tool and material is used for specific steps.
Understand different materials used for the modern upholstery of a footstool/ottoman/stool.
Understand each step involved in upholstering a footstool/ottoman/stool using modern methods and materials.
Be competent at all stages, the result being a completed footstool/ottoman/stool and understanding of its make- up
All the tools we use are basic and easy to buy for your own projects at home. Skills gained at the workshop will be a great starting point for many more of your own projects!
At the end of the sessions, you will have gained an understanding of all the stages required when upholstering a footstool. You even get to take home it home with you and show off to all your friends and family!
