We will be learning about sociable animals, creatures that prefer the company of their own kind, form social bonds and stick together to raise their young. Very excited to welcome a duo of prairie dogs for the first time, herbivorous rodents that live in giant family groups that are known to kiss and groom others in their clan. We will be meeting members of a meerkat mob, all siblings that take turns to watch for danger. We will be drawing a trio of Degus, small social rodents that need lots of attention and nibble on each other to show affection. And lastly, three rescued sugar gliders, small marsupials that mark each other with saliva to ensure the whole group smells the same.
The drawing class is open to all, from beginners to advanced. The aim of these drawing classes is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for the animals and their conservation in the wider world.
